About the Hunt Provider:

If you are a mule deer hunter you have just come to mule deer heaven and 100% success on all sizes of mule deer, you pick your target. The area is known for its high deer concentration and size. If you need a license vouchers are available. Multiple animals with no extra fees or trophy fees.

Since this is a semi-guided hunt, we do not hunt with you but provide you with the information to be extraordinarily successful. We provide hanging poles by the large cabin, and even a cooler to put your deer in during the sometimes warm days during the rifle season.

In both cases the landowner will take the hunters on 1 hour tour of the ranch and show them fence lines of the property, where the deer feed, water, daybed, and where he sees them the most. You will meet him at the ranch house, and he will provide the leader his cell phone number.

Lay of the Land:

You will be hunting at an exceptionally low altitude for Colorado between 4,000 feet and 7,000 feet so the breathing adjustment is minimal if any.

The elk are in the upper ranch which has 4 cabins with about 200 acres private each and access to 15,000 acres public land that is difficult for public hunters to get to so theoretically only ranch cabin hunters will be there.  Two of the cabins are close together allowing for a larger group.  The other cabins are farther apart.  All have indoor plumbing and 2 have outhouses.

The lower ranch has more than 7 miles of river bottom, agriculture ground with irrigated alfalfa spreading across 2,500 acres. A comfortable cabin and a semi-guided hunt, you can see why we fill 100%. There are a lot of mule deer to choose from on the 2,500 acres of prime river bottom of alfalfa, and natural mule deer cover in draws where they spend the mid-day hours loafing and sleeping. To get around on this large area and to assist in getting your deer back to camp ATVs are ok. Of course, Trucks are ok and as the ATV’s on provided roads only.

There are hiding pockets for the deer that they feel are safe, but you can walk into the canyons. The recommendation is to drive them sparingly and quietly, so you don’t spook the deer into lock down hiding during the daylight hours. The bigger the deer the smarter they are as anywhere. Daytime they bed, with mornings and evenings they feed in the alfalfa, it doesn’t get any better than that.  The cabins are complete including propane lights, stove, refrigerator and beds. All you'll need to bring is your gun, clothing, personal items and food. Everything else is furnished. All cabins are four wheel drive accessible. Chains may be required in cases of extremely bad weather.
