Bull Basin Cabin: A cabin on 40 acres private with national forest access 200 yards from the back of the cabin and walking access only. This cabin will sleep 3 to 6 hunters and make a great hunting cabin, not a lot of flash but in the great location. The property is at 9500' elevation and perfect for elk with closest public access 2 miles away so it takes work for anyone else to get up there. The cabin is on the back side of the private land, so no one hunts it. It is in a way that National Forest hunters do not go there but do push deer and elk to you. Do not forget you can shoot right out of the cabin door as you leave in the morning. The road to it is accessible by 4WD Truck or ATV. Pockets like this are famous for producing bucks and bulls that no one has ever seen before. The heat is wood stove, cooking is propane and since you are off the grid the electrical is from the cabin generator. Water is hauled to the cabin for you, so you have all the comforts of home in this well insulated cabin.
Mountain Cabin: The cabin has road access with or without snow and 2000 acres private land sits at about 8500' elevation, perfect for elk and deer. It has timber, parks and a creek and it's adjacent to national forest. It has a place for horses or bring ATVs but best not to be driving around on them as you will spook game off the property. It's best to use them for game retrieval. It can take 4 to 6 hunters. The area surrounding you in most directions is the Uncompahgre National Forest. Research will provide you the stats on this well-known area for elk and deer, with archery, muzzleloader and rifle every year. You can park your horses, ATV or truck here and pick your place where you want to hunt every morning. Bring your maps, GPS and compass because this is a self-guided hunt. Elk are bedded and secure where they are safe mid-day. Snow is common depending on what season you hunt. Snow is your friend after September because it makes the elk move and are more exposed. Warm weather makes the elk bed during the day when you are hunting so they will be there but makes them difficult to find. There are 2 cabins, one for sleeping and one for cooking. There is a propane cook stove so bring propane bottles and the sleeping cabin has a wood stove (see picture of interior above). He has water available but you probably want to buy some bottled water and/or bring a 5gal can. Bring some lanterns as people tend to walk off with them.
800 acres private and bring your own camper: The property has road access with or without snow and 800 acres private land. The property is surrounded by national forest at 8500' elevation with pastures rising to 9000' with scrub brush and trees. It has a place for horses or bring ATVs but best not to be driving around on them as you will spook game off the property. It's best to use them for game retrieval. It can take 2 to 4 hunters.
Mule Deer Trespass Hunt: Semi-Guided/DIY by Mesa Colorado. 80 acres private land of pinyon pines, aspen, pasture, and creek bottom. Great mule deer hunting and you are able to hunt the private land. All of the property around you is private so there is a high density of animals where you are and a low density of people. Since there is no public land around you will not have any fence jumpers because the neighbors watch the fences as well as we do, so you will be completely alone on the property.
